event news: the future of higher and further education marketing and communications

For the second year running, Wordnerds are delighted to be sponsoring the The Future of Higher and Further Education Marketing and Communications event, taking place at Central Manchester in June 2019.

Hosted by Government Events, the event is aimed at those working in Higher and Further Education Marketing (obvs).

Wordnerds CEO, Pete Daykin is lined up for the morning’s Key Support Session, asking attendees to consider, ‘exactly why don't students want you?’ and presenting a case for using AI, linguistics and real-time sentiment to understand the university selection process.

Why is a degree more attractive than a competitor's for a specific subject? Which subjects are they well-liked for and which need work? What fuels the decision-making process of a prospective data scientist as compared to, say, an artist?

The answer to all of these questions is out there, floating around the internet in the form of unstructured text data on social media, forums and review sites.

Wordnerds uses cutting edge Natural Language Processing techniques alongside oldskool linguistics to gather, process and summarise this data in a software platform that allows colleges and universities to understand exactly what students want, what they’re known for - good and bad - and how that compares to their competitors.

Wordnerds CEO, Pete Daykin, explains more and shares some of the latest industry trends.
