Wordnerds are co-hosting two sprints at this year's Innovation Festival with Northumbrian Water and CGI.
Northumbrian Water are taking their Innovation Festival online this year and Wordnerds are chuffed to be collaborating on two sprints.
The event, which is in its fourth year, is a "Glastonbury meets Tomorrow's World" mashup, where brilliant ideas are conjured up to tackle water sector, environmental and societal challenges.
Taking place between the 14-17 September, this year Northumbrian Water are swapping tents for screens due to COVID-19.
No doubt, the digitised version of the festival will draw their largest international crowd, and we are psyched for our biggest involvement to date following our participation at the previous two festivals.
Wordnerds Sprint - (Water) Drops of Jupiter
Join us for an action-packed series of five separate sprints in a day spread over the course of the Innovation Festival Week. Each sprint will focus on a different element of the water efficiency challenge, looking for solutions through the lens of the customers, employees, communities, communicators and innovators.
CGI Sprint (With Wordnerds, Newcastle City Council and ENGIE) - Save the World
The ambition for carbon neutral is a collective challenge that requires collaboration from city councils, private organisations and communities. That's why CGI are hosting a collaborative sprint with Newcastle City Council, ENGIE and yours truly. Together, we'll be exploring how harnessing emerging technologies and using data more innovatively can accelerate the journey towards Net Zero.

NWG FTW
Riding high on winning company of the year at WWT's Water industry Awards, Northumbrian Water also came top of the charts in our recent State of the Nation summary report.
Using our game-changing text analysis software, we analysed over 50,000 tweets mentioning 15 of the most talked-about water companies on Twitter, to uncover:
- What issues caused the most damage to customer sentiment
- What services do customers care most about
- What quick wins can improve the customer experience
Water efficiency was a standout theme during the reporting period as a growing concern for customers, but also one of the best ways in which water companies engaged customers, which contributed positively to their overall sentiment scores. Find out more in the report, available here.
2020 may have brought the foot-long fatberg, a global pandemic and the driest May on record - but Northumbrian Water are ready to tackle whatever comes their way. We can't wait for the Innovation Festival and we hope to see you there.
