Great news, but what the heck does this mean?
For those of you incognizant to G-Cloud, the CCS or the Digital Marketplace; it’s basically a government framework, which is an agreement between the government and suppliers. It’s designed to help protect front line services by delivering significant and sustainable cost savings through their commercial activity - saving time and money instead of entering individual procurement contracts.
The CCS works with both departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery. The CCS’ goal is to become the “go-to” place for expert commercial and procurement services.
The Cloud Software Services can be used by organisations across the UK public sector including:
- Central government
- Local government
- Health
- Education
- Devolved administrations
- Emergency services
- Defence
- Not-for-profit
Key Benefits of Using CCS
Acting on behalf of the Crown, it endeavours to:
- Drive savings for the taxpayer and improve commercial activity and procurement
- Deliver savings for the public sector and the taxpayer by aggregating spend
- Ensure customers have access to the most competitive deals
